Stephen Starr Alleges He Was Duped Into AC Deals

Stephen Starr is suing the landlord and developers of the Pier Shops at Caesars in Atlantic City over the AC outposts of Buddakan and Continental, both of which opened in 2006. Starr’s lawsuit alleges that the defendants made fraudulent claims about Jeffrey Chodorow’s involvement, using Chodorow as a carrot to keep Starr going when the project kept on stalling. In all, he’s claiming more than $20 million in damages, partially as restitution for an initial $10 million investment; the remaining half because the restaurants are losing money in a “half-empty” wing of the mall.
