Bar 210 at Lacroix is launching a Monday through Friday happy hour with every recessionista’s mating call: complimentary hors d’oeuvres! Of course, this is Lacroix, so don’t expect the congealed chicken wings in chafing dishes that the late, lamented Boathouse Bar next door used to serve during their happy hour. Sommelier Eric Simonis and chef de cuisine Jason Cichonski are whipping up a new set of cocktails and snacks every week. Curious about this week’s options? Are they worth the trip?

Here’s what will be served for the week of July 20 through July 24, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Complimentary Snacks: Smoked octopus with banana; edamame croquettes; ribs
Worth It?: They’re free. The only way it could be a better deal is if they paid you to eat them.

$6 Cocktails: Blueberry Lemonade (Pearl blueberry vodka, fresh lemonade) and P & P Margarita (Jose Cuervo tequila, fresh lime juice and pear purée)
Worth It?: Bar 210’s specialty cocktails regularly average about $12, at half off, we’d call this a deal, especially if you sample enough of the free food.

$5 Wines
: Marquis de la Tour pinot grigio and an unspecified South African red
Worth It?: Not worth going out of your way for, but if you like to drink your Marquis de la Tour pinot in a swankier setting than your house, go for it.

$4 Beers: Unspecified Blue Moon, Yuengling lager
Worth It?: $4 for a lager? Stick with the cocktails.
