Let the suburbanite hysteria begin! Philadelphia magazine is previewing ten of their "Best of Philly" restaurant awards, of which there are roughly 90 this year. Are there any surprises? Only if you consider Stephen Starr and Jose Garces winning yet another "Best Of" a surprise. There is one semi-shocker, especially in light of a recent ho-hum review from Craig LaBan.
How about Union Trust as best new steakhouse? Especially when the accompanying text says "UT is a new generation of steakhouse, where fish entrées—try the monkfish osso buco—are as good as (if not, dare we say, better than) the crispy steaks." Yes, a steakhouse where fish may potentially be better than the meat.
