Sansom Street’s Remedy Tea Bar will serve its last steaming cup of goodness this Thursday, confirms owner Kristen Kammerer. “It’s true and we’re really sad about it,” Kammerer cites issues with the landlord, who she says is pushing her and her business partner (and sister) Courtney, out of the plum Rittenhouse location where they have been since 2005. The sisters have been hunting for a new storefront for a while, but haven’t found anything workable yet. Would they consider other neighborhoods?
“We’re looking in other neighborhoods, but Rittenhouse is our first choice because of the higher foot traffic, but the rent is so high where we are, plus we have to find investors, we’re working on it, but it just hasn’t happened yet,” says Kammerer.
The teas will still be available for purchase online at the Remedy web site and are served at both Snackbar and Pub & Kitchen.
