Gourmet Picks Philly’s Best Bang-for-Buck Restaurants

In its October issue, Gourmet magazine selected the restaurants it thinks are “worth the money” across the country, broken down by region. The criteria:

“We’ve searched the country high and low (and everywhere in between) and come up with this guide to great places for spending your hard-earned cash. That means everything from casual Thai joints and killer hot dog spots to fine restaurants where you’ll have a once-in-a-lifetime meal.”

So who made the cut in Philly?

Perennial national magazine favorite Zahav is on the list, as is Paesano’s. Both are worthy choices and mercifully, neither serves cheesesteaks. We can think of several others we would have added: Franklin Fountain, DiNic’s, Osteria, Matyson, to name a few.

If you had to pick Philly restaurants to include on this best-bang-for-the-buck list, who would it be? Let us know in the comments below.
