All You Can Eat - and Drink! - at South Philly Tap Room

South Philadelphia Tap Room chef Scott Schroeder tipped us off to an upcoming all-you-can-eat-and-drink multi-chef buffet dinner centered around farmhouse ales he’s hosting on Sunday, September 20 at 7 p.m. Schroeder has invited chefs Gene Giuffi of Cochon, Sheri Waide of Southwark and Nick Macri of Beneluxx to each prepare a course to pair with a selection of farmhouse ales, plus a special guest from New York to kick in the breads and pastries.

Patrick O’Malley, who works in Balthazar Bakery’s wholesale division, will provide the flour-based goods. Schroeder isn’t quite sure yet what everyone’s preparing, but Macri, a charcuterie expert who trained at Osteria, will likely be bringing something along those lines and he suspects Waide will do something with duck while the word ‘sauerkraut’ was mentioned alongside Giuffi’s name. Here’s a list of the farmhouse-style beers on deck:

Draft
St. Feuillien Saison
Etienne Dupont Sparkling Cider
St. Somewhere Saison du Chene
The Livery Maillot Jaune
Saison d’Erpe-Mere

Bottled
Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere
Fantome Saison
Thiriez Blonde
Pretty Things Jack D’Or …and much more!!

Tickets are $75, all-inclusive. You can make reservations/purchase tickets online, or by phone or by stopping by the bar in person. If you go on a Monday or Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., you can also take advantage of their new happy hour: half off all local drafts ($1.50 Kenzingers) and half-price appetizers.
