We were at Village Whiskey yesterday during the all-important cocktail training session, where bartender Stephen Seibert was instructing his bartending crew on how to properly prepare the specialty cocktails that the saloon will serve. There was lots of egg dividing (so as to split out the whites, which are used for froth in some of the drinks), muddling, measuring and only one glass sacrificed in the name of research. We photographed these colorful beauties, which are divided into classic 'Prohibition' recipes and more modern 'Repeal' recipes. When will you be able to taste them yourself? Well, the opening, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, September 3, is being held up by those twin party poopers, L&I and the PLCB. There's a possibility they may be open Friday, but that's still up in the air. In the meantime, click through to see what you might order when the doors are finally open.
