Openings

So Many Fish in the Sea, But Are Any of Them Open?

Fish, chef-owner Mike Stollenwerk’s new restaurant, was supposed to open tonight but we just heard from Stollenwerk and like most restaurant openings, it’s not sticking to its schedule.

Stollenwerk tells us he expects the liquor license to be approved by tomorrow, but has decided to hold off on opening after discovering some operations-related kinks that need ironing out. Rather than rushing to open, he wants to wait to do it properly. End result: the opening is postponed until next Monday, October 12.

Meanwhile, Stollenwerk’s other restaurant, Little Fish, is closed due to emergency renovations. He’s hoping to have it back open for dinner by Tuesday night, but said the situation, which involves issues with the building’s exterior, is currently an “L&I; mess.” Either way, perhaps tonight you’ll want to opt for red meat instead?
