Why go to Vegas to hit up a brand new Jean-Georges, Michael Mina or Wolfgang Puck restaurant when you can pop up to glamorous Lower Bucks and dine at a Chickie’s and Pete’s with 20 TV screens? The Parx Casino in Bensalem opened its doors this morning at 6 a.m. and along with the slot machines and the same ridiculous Dale Chihuly glass light fixtures that dangle from the ceiling of the Borgata, it contains three restaurants and two lounge/clubs. According to its website, there’s the requisite steakhouse, the requisite Chickie’s and Pete’s, the requisite nightclub situation and, lo, what’s this? A restaurant called Foodies. Yes, Foodies. The site unhelpfully describes it as “fresh, quality and affordable treats that will please every palate,” but does it really even matter what they serve? The important thing here is that if the word foodie wasn’t already making your ears bleed, it will now. Maybe they should have called it Foodiots?
