500 Degrees, the new Sansom Street burger joint from Rouge owners Rob and Maggie Wasserman fires up its griddle today at 11 a.m. and will feature a day full of promotional extravaganzas, including free burgers. The new spot, supervised by Rouge executive chef Matt Zagorski, will serve five-and-a-half-ounce versions of Rouge's signature burgers, which were one of 22 notable burgers featured in our Burger Register. Each burger is griddled to your preferred temperature and can be paired with a taut variety of fries and Bassett's ice cream shakes. Promotion Schedule:

• Starting at 11 a.m.: the first 100 people through the door receive a free burger of their choice.

• After the first 100 people get their free burger, guests can bring a friend and order a burger, the friend then gets a burger of equal or lesser value free. This offer lasts until 3 p.m.

• From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., guests receive a free soda and their choice of fries - regular, spicy or truffle - with the purchase of any burger.

• From 11 p.m. until a TBD closing time, guests will receive free fries with any purchase.
