Johnstown Flood Tax Drying Up?

A state Rep. is proposing an end to the Johnstown Flood Tax - the 18 percent levy on wine and liquor sales added in 1936 to help rebuild a southwestern Pennsylvania town destroyed by floods that’s still on the books 74 dry, floodless years later. That end wouldn’t come until 2021, but at least it there would be an end in sight after 85 years. [Philly.com]
