After a grim season of Snowpocalypses and Snowmageddons and Snowperbole, it’s about time there were some signs of spring. Besides the practically balmy mid-50s weather, there are also imminent signs of restaurant spring on the horizon. There are signs of life from summery burger shacks and ice cream shops, plus news of an unholy union between a water ice behemoth and the marshmallow blobs from Bethlehem.

• Stephen Starr’s SquareBurger will reopen in Franklin Square on March 26. The menu of burgers, cake shakes and other summery fare will be mostly the same, but a Starr rep says there may be a few menu additions as well.

• Owner Stephanie Reitano says the East Passyunk Avenue location of Capogiro will reopen Friday, March 19 if all goes according to plan; how will you decide between eating a fresh H&H; bagel or gelato? Have both!

• Water ice chain Rita’s 18th annual first day of spring water ice giveaway is on Saturday, March 20; they’ve have partnered with Peeps to create a Peeps water ice, which you can try on that day. And which is also insane.

• Old City ice cream shoppe the Franklin Fountain has once again returned to its seven-day-a-week schedule: they’re open Sundays through Thursdays from noon to 11 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to midnight.
