A while back, Grub Street told you not to hold your breath waiting for a Barcade to materialize in Fishtown, because it was so far off that the owners wouldn’t even speculate about a possible opening. This week however, there is some progress to report. Barcade’s owners were back in town to make public plans and renderings of their spin-off project, according to Philadelphia Brownstoner. Revealed were plans for the bar to include 24 taps devoted to craft beer, light food offerings, an outdoor beer garden, and of course a wide-ranging collection of vintage arcade games. Depending on Barcade’s request for zoning variances, work could begin in September, with an opening as soon as next spring. But, as Grub Street has stated before, don’t hold your breath.
