Ulysses Voyage Aborted

The former home of Deux Cheminees

Ulysses Voyage, the Greek restaurant that was supposed to open up shop this past spring in the former Deux Cheminees space at Locust and Camac streets, is on hold, according to a snippet - buried in chatter about Bebe's Barbecue's closing and whether or not Philly has a decent seafood restaurant - on Craig LaBan’s weekly online chat, which the Inquirer runs in print on Thursdays. The project is reportedly in limbo due to a lack of financing. After a two decades-plus run, acclaimed chef Fritz Blank closed Deux Cheminees in 2007, and retired to Thailand. If and when work will continue to transform the magnificent 100-year-old double-wide brownstone into Ulysses Voyage is uncertain. [Inquirer]
