While Bastille Day celebrations kicked off last Saturday with riotous revelry at the Eastern State Penitentiary, today Francophiles all over the city are honoring the holiday on its proper day with champagne, food and music. Le Bec Fin, perhaps the Frenchiest of Philly’s French restaurants, is observing the day that led to the establishment of France as we now know it with an all-day outdoor street party. From now until sunset, Georges Perrier and his crew will offer specially priced bar snacks, pastries sandwiches and red and white wine.

• Around the corner, Stephen Starr’s Parc is offering specialty cocktails, a three-course, $45 menu and a live gypsy jazz band.

• At Bistro St. Tropez, Chef Patrice Rames is offering a special $28 four-course dinner tonight and through Saturday. The menu includes Vichyssoise, a choice of grilled leg of lamb or wild striped bass, St. Jacques or Steak Frites, and Profiteroles.

Bistrot La Minette’s Chef Peter Woolsey is serving a four-course French barbecue for $35 per person. The dinner includes French style barbecued meats, served buffet style, Parmentier, gratin Dauphinois and specialty cocktails.
