Last night Jose Garces unveiled his highly anticipated taco truck, Guapos Tacos, at Amis’ monthly industry night. Garces and company co-hosted the event with Marc Vetri, Brad Spence and their staffs. Inside the Amis crew served porchetta, housemade mortadella sandwiches, bianca pizza and poured dark and stormies mixed with fresh, housemade ginger beer. Garces’ taco truck, which was parked out back on Waverly Street, doled out guacamole con cotija, tacos de carnitas, tacos de lengua and veggie tacos. Don’t expect to see Guapos Tacos truckin’ through a neighborhood near you; it will be used mostly for special events. Click through to see it on its maiden voyage and some of the dishes served.
