Marty Grims Trots Out a White Dog in Wayne

White Dog Cafe, the University City mainstay that introduced the words sustainability and locavorism into the local lexicon while nurturing future successes ranging from Marc Vetri and Metropolitan Bakery to Fork and John & Kira’s Chocolates, has opened a suburban outpost in Wayne. Marty Grims, the restaurateur who bought White Dog from founder Judy Wicks last year, has brought in chef Zach Grainda from his Daddy O hotel and restaurant on Long Beach Island. In keeping with the long established White Dog guiding principles, Grainda has created a menu that focuses on local and sustainable ingredients. It’s operating as a BYOB for now, but a liquor license is in the works. Update: White Dog is now operating with a liquor license. [Insider via Main Line Dine]
