Typically you wait until after Thanksgiving to start repurposing your feast’s leftovers to make sandwiches, but with holiday still three weeks out, P.Y.T. and Jake’s Sandwich Board are both putting the cart before the turkey and serving up new sandwich creations that puts almost the entire Thanksgiving experience between two pieces of bread. P.Y.T. puts forth what its calling the Thanksgivin’ Dinner Burger, a seasoned turkey patty, applewood bacon stuffing, turkey gravy, apple cranberry spread, served with sweet potato fries.

Not to be outdone, Jake’s Sandwich Board just rolled out a Turducken sandwich this week. It consists of a cranberry spread smothered roll, apple-sausage stuffing, slices of slow-roasted Creole-seasoned turkey, duck and chicken and topped with brown gravy and crispy hash browns. The whole mess can be yours for $10 and comes with a complimentary soda. Each person who orders it will be entered into a drawing to win a real Turducken for Thanksgiving. Surely this what early American settlers and their native friends had in mind when the broke bread at Plymouth Rock.
