Back in September we told you that WHYY dropped its locally-produced food show A Chef’s Table, and a couple weeks ago we followed up with news that the show’s host, Jim Coleman, had landed a new job with World Café Live. Now all that’s left to wrap this story up is an update on what will become of Coleman’s namesake restaurant at the suburban hotel and conference center Normandy Farm. This morning Grub Street received word that the restaurant is being transformed into the Farmer’s Daughter, an expanded operation with a locavore/farm-fresh tilt.
The conference center’s food and beverage director, Corey Fair, is taking over kitchen duties and the entire space will undergo a major makeover before debuting as the Farmer’s Daughter in February. Renovations include expanding the space’s bar area, creating a 2,100 square foot bar with 90 seats that will feature a extensive menu and artisan cocktails created with fresh and housemade mixers. Meanwhile, the restaurant and banquet operations will continue uninterrupted throughout Framer’s Daughter’s renovations.
