Earlier this week Grub Street mentioned that South Philly native Joey Campanaro and his brother Louis had put the meatball slider that’s amassed at cult following at New York’s Little Owl and Kenmare on the menu at Village Belle. This Sunday, the still newish Queen Village spot debuts its brunch menu. Louis, the younger Campanaro who presides over Village Belle’s kitchen, has created a selection of brunch dishes — some classics and some original — that bear the chef’s Mediterranean influences. Some hightlights include “Eggs Benedetto, his take on Eggs Benedict with cheese biscuits and pancetta, Risotto Dolce with cinnamon, raisin and brown sugar, and a traditional Campanelle with Sunday Gravy, which is said to be recreate the experience of Sunday suppers at the Campanaro home.
