For weeks Grub Street’s been hearing rumors alluding to an imminent closing for the Rittenhouse hideaway Snackbar. Today, it’s official. Owner Jonathan Makar will close up shop for good on February 5, according to Philly Chit Chat’s HughE Dillon. Makar is reportedly closing Snackbar after a four year run to focus his efforts on his other Rittenhouse Square business, Flowers & Co. In its tenure, Snackbar hit some high notes with its laid-back loungey vibe and trendy cuisine from chef Jonathan Adams (now at Pub & Kitchen) and later John Taus (now at the Corner).
