Today’s bummer: Longtime Inquirer food columnist Rick Nichols is hanging it up and bidding adieu, the Insider reports. After 33 years at the paper, Nichols, who covered a variety of news beats and penned editorials before being appointed to the Inky’s food staff in 1995, is moving on to focus on teaching journalism at University of Pennsylvania and enjoying lengthy bike rides with his wife. Though he will contribute occasional articles, the absence of his voice on the food scene and in the paper will surely be felt for years to come. [Insider]
