It looks as if Old Man Winter will give us a break from his wrath long enough to let us thaw out and enjoy watching the Pittsburgh Steelers square off against the Green Bay Packers in Sunday’s Super Bowl. And for the big game, Iron Chef Jose Garces’ University City Mexican outpost Distrito is getting in on the action with “Endless Nachos y Tacos” in its first floor cantina. For $25 guests get to indulge in as much nachos and tacos as they can fit in there mouths between 6 and 9 p.m. There’s also $2 draught beer specials. Fairmount’s London Grill is taking a diplomatic approach to the game. It’s serving regional specialties from Pittsburgh and Green Bay, Wisconsin. Representing Steelers country are Primanti Bros.-style sandwiches, Polish Hill pierogies, boiled eggs and Iron City and Penn Brewing beers. Representing Green Bay are bratwurst sandwiches, deep fried “squeaky cheese,” and beers from Sprecher, Point Brewing and Central Waters. Click through for more.
