Some restaurants are cursed by their locations, while others seem to be anointed by them. We’re not sure which is the case for 700 Bainbridge Street. For a moment last year, the spot was home to Ro-Zu, which was well received in the brief few weeks that chef Todd Dae Kulper helmed it. After his departure, it struggled to find its footing and closed shortly after. Now Kulper’s part of the Khyber-Royal-Cantina fold and presumably working on his on Royal Sushi and Izakaya, and Ro-Zu is home to Big Eyes Sushi, which opened Sunday, according to Meal Ticket. The new BYO spot is pushing a more affordable approach to sushi and other Japanese dishes. The menu, which features a variety of sashimi and specialty rolls and entrees, doesn’t have anything that costs more than $18. [Meal Ticket]
