LCB Plans to Put Booze in Its Wine Kiosks

The LCB’s “worst idea ever” sounds like it’s about to get a little bit better. The Morning Call reports the state’s beleaguered booze barons have plans to step up the offerings dispensed from its fleet of self-serve wine kiosks. In the coming months the LCB will reportedly begin testing sales of liquor in at least 10 of the 32 kiosks it operates out of supermarkets across the state. So now in addition to overpriced wine stored inside a hot vending machine, Pennsylvanians can now jump through hoops and blow into a breathalyzer to get a bottle of booze at their local supermarkets too. Since the critically panned kiosk program has been slow to gain support from the thirsty masses since launched last year, we imagine that the addition of booze is sure to attract more users. You know what they say, right? Wine is fine, but liquor’s quicker. [Morning Call]
