Marcie Turney and Valarie Safran, the enterprising duo that rules Midtown Village’s roost, might be taking a breather from opening new businesses for while, but that hardly means they’re resting on their laurels or wading in the status quo. The Insider reports the two are in the process of securing a liquor license for Bindi, their stylish Indian BYOB across the street from Barbuzzo. The bright orange notice of their application went up in Bindi’s window late last week. While awaiting approval from the community and state, Bindi will continue to operate as is, and will likely have booze to serve sometime before summer’s end. Meanwhile, Lolita, the pair’s Mexican number also on 13th Street, will reportedly remain a BYOB. [Insider]
