People used to joke all the time that Stephen Starr would some day take over the world. Lately that notion doesn’t seem so far fetched. The latest Starr conquest? The floating tourist trap the Philadelphia Belle. According to Montgomery News, the Belle’s owners have partnered with Starr Events to create menus for the riverboat that are inspired by Starr’s restaurants and feature Philly centric items. A quick peek at the boat’s website show’s that there’s pretzels and cheeseteaks and something called the Italian Market Sampler, which comes with roasted tomatoes, olives, dry sausage, fresh mozzarella and basil, to back the local foods claims, but nary a mention of Buddakan’s miso black cod, Morimoto’s sashimi or anything else that resembles the fare from Starr’s haunts. Oh well. At least Square Burger is a short walk from where the Belle is docked. [Montgomery News]
