Seems that rumors are true that Stephen Starr is bringing a restaurant to Washington D.C. Yesterday Washington Citypaper’s HousingComplex blog cited an unnamed source that said Starr was close to signing a deal on a property in the Northwest section of the nation’s capital. Starr confirmed this morning that he is indeed about to seal the deal for what he says will be a slightly more casual version of his Parisian-style bistro, Parc. “We’re really excited about it,” Starr told Grub Street. “The property is in an emerging neighborhood, and we think it’s going to be a good market for us.”

Starr wouldn’t confirm the property’s exact coordinates, but sounded genuinely enthusiastic when describing its possibilities, noting its strong corner location and broad sidewalks. “Its unusual for Washington, because its not in an office building,” Starr said. “I hate being in office buildings.”

Starr expects the restaurant’s design and construction will take about a year.
