Seems that rumors are true that Stephen Starr is bringing a restaurant to Washington D.C. Yesterday Washington Citypapers HousingComplex blog cited an unnamed source that said Starr was close to signing a deal on a property in the Northwest section of the nations capital. Starr confirmed this morning that he is indeed about to seal the deal for what he says will be a slightly more casual version of his Parisian-style bistro, Parc. Were really excited about it, Starr told Grub Street. The property is in an emerging neighborhood, and we think its going to be a good market for us.

Starr wouldnt confirm the propertys exact coordinates, but sounded genuinely enthusiastic when describing its possibilities, noting its strong corner location and broad sidewalks. Its unusual for Washington, because its not in an office building, Starr said. I hate being in office buildings.

Starr expects the restaurants design and construction will take about a year.
