If you recall, Farmers’ Cabinet, the Center City effort from the folks behind East Falls’ troubled Fork & Barrel, came with the promise of an in-house nanobrewery when it opened back in March. The owners behind both restaurants, as well as the also now closed Tap & Table in Emmaus and the still open Bookstore Speakeasy in Bethlehem, announced via Facebook this morning that Terry Hawbaker, the gifted brewer they lured away from Williamsport, PA’s Bullfrog Brewery, has begun brewing house beers at what they area calling “our new brewery” near Washington D.C. They add that the facility is the former Shenandoah Brewery in Alexandria, VA and they expect to begin serving food and Hawbaker’s beers there in the not so distant future. They expect to have his brews on tap here by the end of August. Does this mean the restaurant’s nanobrewery is now off? [The Farmers’ Cabinet/Facebook]
