The silver lining to losing both Far From Home and the mobile division of Renaissance Sausage last week is, there are now two able and ready-to-roll food trucks on the market for some enterprising cooks with an imagination. The Renaissance truck is a GMC P3500 16-foot box rig with a brand-spanking new 36” flat top griddle, a deep fryer, propane powered hot water heater and tons of other kitchen equipment. It’s also licensed to operate in Philly and Montgomery County., and its priced to move at $35,000. There’s no price listed for the former Far From Home truck, a completely customized 1995 Chevrolet Step Truck, equipped with a flat top griddle, stove top burners, three bay sink and hand sink, and an overhead exhaust system. It too is fully licensed and has no violations. Let’s just hope that neither gets brought back to life as another cupcake truck.
