Take a Peek at Birra, Opening On or Just After Labor Day

Last week we told you there were some signs of life at Birra, the Italian restaurant and craft beer spot coming to East Passyunk Ave. Today we have word from a Birra rep that it’s coming along nicely, and should be open for business on or just after Labor Day. The kitchen crew is said to be readying Birra’s pizza oven and kitchen for test runs beginning next week. Check the video below for a brief glimpse of the restaurant’s progress, as well as owner Gordon Dinerman previewing some dishes, like the pizzas that will likely be the star attraction and a pizza-oven roasted branzino with tomato salad, in his “test kitchen,” which is actually his apartment.
