The earthquake that rocked much of the East Coast today was nothing compared to the shakeups that continue to rattle the kitchen at Talula’s Garden. Foobooz reported this morning that Matt Moon, the former Talula’s Table chef who we mentioned a few weeks ago had taken the helm at Stephen Starr and Aimee Olexy’s collaboration on Washington Square, flew the coop. And right now, it seems as if the restaurant is for the second time in recent weeks without a chef. Moon stepped in to replace opening chef Michael Santoro, who left in late July following Inky critic Craig LaBan’s less-than-stellar review of the restaurant. The Insider caught up with Starr this afternoon to confirm Moon’s departure, but there’s no word yet why he split nor who will replace him. [Foobooz; Insider]
