Dettera Reopens After Flooding; Manayunk Brewery Is Still Bailing Out

Dettera, the posh restaurant located near a flood prone creek in Ambler, took on as much as four feet of water during Tropical Storm Lee. And it’s been closed while bailing out its basement for a week. A rep from the restaurant told Grub Street that it will reopen for dinner tonight. Though rising water and a week out of commission is no doubt a harsh blow, Dettera’s flooded basement was a drop in the bucket compared to the ordeals suffered by other area restaurants.

In Manayunk, Foobooz reports, the Manayunk Brewery and Restaurant has had to contend with two back to back floods, first Hurricane Irene and then Lee. It’s reportedly trying to open back up by the end of the week. Yardley’s Charcoal BYOB, though rebuilt 10 feet above the flood plane after a 2006 flood, still hasn’t reopened.
