The Eagles (literally) kickoff football season in Philly on Sunday with their home opener against the Giants at Lincoln Financial Field. Joining them this season will be Jose Garces’ Guapos Tacos truck and Northern Liberties and Temple University stalwart wiener slingers Dapper Dog. “Given the popularity of food trucks, we thought it would be a great idea to bring them and incorporate them into game day experience here,” Aramark spokesman David Freireich told Grub Street. “Both will be parked just inside the gates at Headhouse Plaza.”

Making things a little more interesting for fans, the Dapper Dog’s dudes will serve up a signature hot dog representative of each away team’s city at every home game. Freireich offered a traditional New York hot dog for when the Giants pay a visit Sunday as an example. He said he didn’t know whether Chicago-born Garces was an Eagles fan or a Bears fan, but was thrilled to have Guapos Tacos signed on for the season.

In addition to Dapper Dogs and Guapos Tacos, the Linc will also pony up a handful of new creations at its concessions. Two notable additions are the Inside LB, a hot London broil sandwich with horseradish cheddar cheese and natural jus served on an onion roll; and Chop Block, chopped brisket with a jalapeno slaw and Linc BBQ sauce served on a corn dusted Kaiser roll.

If you’re not attending Sunday’s game, you’ll be glad to know that Percy Street Barbecue is offering specially priced Victory draughts every Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. for those catching the game on their giant TV, and knocking 10 percent off all take-out orders for those who can’t pry themselves off of the couch.

And if football (in the American sense of the word) isn’t your thing, Stephen Starr’s Dandelion is opening up super early this weekend to serve breakfast and air the English Premier League soccer games on its newly installed TV. Chef Robert Aikens will serve a full English Breakfast with Cumberland sausage, black pudding, tomato, mushroom, smoked bacon, fried bread, baked beans and two eggs any style, and a host of other Brit-inspired dishes beginning at 7:45 a.m. to accommodate those who want to catch the Manchester City vs Everton game.
