Raise a Shrimp Cocktail to DiNardo’s Founder, Anthony J. D’Lauro

In sad news, Anthony J. D’Lauro Jr., the patriarch behind Old City’s long standing DiNardo’s Famous Seafood passed away last week in Naples, Florida, where he resided in recent years, the Inquirer reports. The advertising executive entered the hospitality sphere in 1976, when he and partners opened DiNardo’s. A few years later, he stepped in to oversee the day-to-day operations, and according to his obituary, still phoned in daily to check in on things up until the very end. [Inquirer]
