Recently, Grub Street came across a federal court docket naming Stephen Starr and the Pier at Caesar’s in a contract action. The Landlord -Tenant dispute has lots of different parties and even more moving parts involved, but the nuts and bolts of it are this.

Boardakan Restaurant, LLC and Oceanental, LLC, which operate two restaurants—Buddakan and Continental, respectively— and are owned by Stephen Starr (who is also a named plaintiff) have brought charges against their landlords claiming that the owners of the Pier at Caesar’s “made false statements implying that other high-profile restaurants would also become tenants at The Pier.”

“The restaurants assert that they would not have entered into the leases if they had known that the other high-profile restaurants would not be joining them at the Pier…,” the docket states.

They claim that the landlord had fraudulently induced them to enter into a lease, and an amended lease by stating that Rum Jungle and English is Italian, two other high end restaurants, would also be tenants at The Pier.

The defendants in the case are disputing the claim.

In a related article that Grub Street came across today, The Courier Post reports that Game On! Sports Bar and Trinity Irish Pub & Carvery, two tenants at the Pier, have recently closed.
