Along with the debut of its Cerebus Triple Wet Hop IPA, the brewery’s first ever ale made with fresh or “wet” hops, Yards will pony up a host of other rare and unusual brews tonight at Percy Street BBQ. Cerebus, which Yards Director of Operations, Steve Mashington told Grub is actually a blend of three separate pale ale’s that the brewery brewed a few weeks ago using fresh-picked hops flown in from Washington’s Yakima Valley less than 24 hours after harvest, will be poured in its elementary forms. Meaning: There will be three wet hop ales on tap, each representing a single hop varietal — Amarillo, Citra and Chinook — that goes into Cerebus. Plus the final blended beer will be on tap, too. So drinkers will have the opportunity to taste and compare.

In addition to Cerebus in all its forms, Percy Street will also have Yards Cape of Good Hope, MacDouglas Smoked Ale, a Bourbon barrel-aged George Washington Porter and Philly Pale Ale. This will be the only time the three wet hop pale ales will be on tap anywhere, and one of just a few occasions to try Cerebus. Mashington said only seven barrels were brewed, and from that only three half kegs, four sixtels and eight firkins exist. Percy Street, Good Dog and Dandelion will pour it in coming days. You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled where the rest turns up.
