Once vilified as one of the seediest of Philly’s seedy dives, J + J Trestle Inn, re-opened last night under new ownership, according to Foobooz. In its latest incarnation the Eraserhood mainstay — you can check it out in its old jiggle joint glory in Dave Dingwall’s “White Boy” video — is re-conceptualized as stylish throwback to a time when Nancy Sinatra wore go-go boots and dancing girls kept most of their clothes on. Sadly the infamous “NO DRUGS, NO GUNS, NO TANK TOPS, NO BAGGY PANTS, NO SNEAKERS” sign posted out front is gone. The Insider reports that the smaller sign that read “Commit No Nuisance” was salvaged. The bar offers whiskey in its many forms, cocktails, 12 beers on tap and bar snacks. An official grand opening takes place on October 29 with a ghoulish-sounding Psycho A Go Go review.
