As Alla Spina begins taking shape up on North Broad Street, Marc Vetri, the chef-bodhisattva behind Vetri, Osteria and Amis, is already looking ahead to his next project. Will it go in on South Broad? East Girard? Passyunk Ave.? Nope. Nope. And nope. Vetri’s looking to the suburbs. Yesterday the Insider noted that Vetri and partners signed a letter of intent to develop a scaled down version of Osteria at the Moorestown Mall with the mall’s owner, PREIT. The catch (you know there’s always a catch)? Moorestown is currently dry. PREIT, which has been promising to bring fine dining to the mall, is offering the town $4 million for four liquor licenses. Whether or not that happens, Vetri and company are reportedly in search of a suburban location. And that’s the best news Jersey burbs have gotten since a decision was made to tear out all of those infuriating traffic circles. [Insider;Phily.com]
