Before sending his flagship Fish downstream in the weeks to come, Mike Stollenwerk is heading up to New York for a return visit to the James Beard House. He’s been invited back on December 7 to present the Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner that he cooked there last year. The $170 dinner will feature a mix of traditional seven fishes dishes and more contemporary creations. Fried smelts, eel escabeche and salty cod are a few of the menu’s features. Also of note is, Fish’s old digs at 1708 Lombard will undergo some light renovations and a reconfiguration when the restaurant moves to 12th and Locust. According to Meal Ticket, the old space will be transformed into Brick American Eatery, a neighborhood bistro and will continue to be operated by Stollenwerk. [Meal Ticket]
