Oh By Gosh By Golly: It’s Already Time For Mad Elf, Mistletoe and Holly

It's getting Mad Elf-y up in here.

Mike “Scoats” Scotese, the Grand Poobah at Northeast Philly’s venerable Grey Lodge Pub, checked in this morning to let us know that on Friday, the Mad Elf will be flowing like it’s christmastime in the city. Not only will the Lodge be pouring this year’s vintage of the Trogner brother’s highly coveted yuletide sipper, but they’ll have 2010’s available too for side-by-side comparison and consumption. And, as an added bonus, the seldom seen Naked Elf, that’s Mad Elf stripped of its cherries and honey, will be making an appearance as well, along with a host of other Tröegs brews. Not to be outdone, Sidecar Bar has its own Mad Elf thing going on, too.

Tonight, the Sidecar will offer drinkers the opportunity to do a vertical tasting of Mad Elves from several Christmases past. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sidecar will be pouring 2009, 2010 and 2011 vintages. They too will have a bunch of other Tröegs brews flowing too.
