Neighbors Mount Support Campaign For Reviving Boot & Saddle

Boot & Saddle
Boot & Saddle

Last week brought word of both restaurateur/nightlife maven Avram Hornik’s intentions to kick long-dormant honky tonk Boot & Saddle back into play as a live music venue, and the South Broad Street Neighborhood Association’s staunch opposition to the effort. They were seeking to block the transfer of liquor license to the property. Now another group of South Philly neighbors are chiming in, and they’re saying that they’re more than happy to have Boot & Saddle revived. Their position is that bringing the derelict property back to life would serve as shot in the arm for the once thriving commercial stretch, and that historically it’s been zoned for a bar and live music. The group has launched an online petition in support of a transfer of a liquor license to the property. Check it out here.
