Battle of the Elves Averted

Back in April we told you that Troegs Brewing Co. and Fegley’s Brew Works were brewing up epic elfin battle over trademarks that was certain to lay waste to any sense of jolliness or merriment in its path. Fortunately (and conveniently as we approach the holiday season) that conflict was averted. Troegs had petitioned U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to cancel Fegley’s trademark on Rude Elf, because they saw it as an infringement on their own Mad Elf. According to Central Pennsylvania’s Patriot News the two breweries have settled on some sort of agreement, thus ending the dispute once and for all.

Neither party would elaborate on what the terms of that agreement are, but that both would continue making and selling their respective yuletide sippers without any change to their names. Our best guess is Jolly St. Nick himself intervened with a stern warning to both parties that they were at risk of being shifted over to the naughty column if they pursued this silliness any further.
