Last we checked in on Lemon Hill, the joint venture from Supper’s Mitch Prensky and the Franklin Mortgages & Investment Co.’s Mike Welsh the opening was slated for yesterday. That debut has since changed to tomorrow, December 28. Though there are similarities to both Supper and the Franklin — Supper’s pastrami fried chicken, which Food & Wine recently included in its roundup “Best Fried Chicken in the U.S.” gets re-imagined as chicken wings on the menu, and Franklin’s Al Sotack has put together a killer cocktail list — Prensky told Grub that Lemon Hill is it’s own entity. “There will never be another Supper,” Prensky said. “And just the same, there will never be another Franklin Mortgage, but here you will find parallels to what makes both places cool.”
In addition to the Supper-inspired pastrami-spiced chicken wings, Lemon Hill’s menu will feature a host of small plate “firsts,” sandwiches and and entrees. Like Supper, much of Lemon Hill’s produce is supplied by Prensky’s Blue Elephant Farm in Newtown Square. And from breads to pickles, most of what can be made in house is prepared by the kitchen staff. Below is a sampling of dishes offered on Lemon Hill’s mock service menu. A more formal and slightly expanded menu will follow with its opening.
