So much for all that business about new, more grown-up friendly restaurants and bars in Old City helping to elevate the neighborhood above the violence and other drunken knuckleheadery that’s plagued it on weekends in recent years. Another nightlife denizen was violently attacked early Saturday morning at an after-hours club near 2nd and Chestnut streets. Police were summoned to Recess Lounge in the wee hours after a scuffle at the exit turned into a stabbing. One man was sent to the hospital in critical condition with a knife wound to his leg. No arrests have been made, but police are reportedly on the lookout for the man they believe is responsible for the stabbing. [Philly.com]
