Dante’s Fried Chicken plans to spend the summer slanging tacos from its new Mexican food stand. The outlet will be soft-open tomorrow in the East Hollywood parking lot of Top Line Barbershop in a debut for friends and family, but the team promises to be back for more in the months to come in a number of locations. So far, Dante Gonzalez’s award-winning truck plans to serve a menu of three tacos, one with fried chicken in a black sesame tortilla served with toasted almond coconut milk slaw topped with apricot “crack” sauce, another with smoked brisket and a sauce of blueberry and Guinness, and a veggie option of tofu chicken nuggets wrapped in a tortilla. DFC Taco, as it’s called, will pop-up for its fans tomorrow from noon to 6:00 P.M. before launching with a more regular schedule in the months to come.
