Ocean City Overwhelmingly Votes ‘No’ on BYOB Referendum

Looks like Ocean City, New Jersey will remain a dry town. Yesterday voters went to the polls to decide whether the 133 ban on alcohol should be relaxed just enough to allow restaurant-goers to bring along beer and wine while dining out. After votes were counted, it was pretty clear that residents overwhelmingly opposed the measure. Nearly 2 to 1, Newsworks reports. Same as always, drinkers will have to drive over to the mainland or find an Elks club if they want a little tipple while on vacation there. And local restaurants will continue to lose business to other, more drink friendly establishments in other shore towns. [Newsworks]
