Still anxiously awaiting that big follow-up to Deltron 3030, the brain-melting futuristic hip-hop concept album released way back in 2000? It’s coming. No really, after twelve years in the making, it really is. Maybe. But in the meantime, Sam Calagione and the folks at Dogfish Head teamed up with the chief architect behind the fantabulous rap extravaganza, Dan the Automator, to produce a “house party in a box” concept. To ensure that the party is a rager, they also enlisted a supergroup of chefs that includes Mario Batali, David Chang, and the dudes from Montreal’s Joe Beef.

In the box are six 750 ml bottles of Positive Contact, a hybrid ale that takes its name from one of the album’s key tracks. It’s a sweet-and-sour Belgian-ish ale brewed with wood-pressed Fuji apple cider, slow-roasted farro, and a touch of cayenne and fresh cilantro, which are apparently the Automator’s favorite ingredients. There’s also a ten-inch record featuring Deltron 3030 remixes by the Automator himself.

That’s not all: The record’s sleeve features recipes from Mario Batali, David Chang, James Syhabout from Oakland’s Commis, and Frederic Morin and David McMilan from Montreal’s Joe Beef that will make any dinner party … instupituous.
