Passyunk Avenue’s ever expanding restaurant row continues adding more dining destinations. Today saw Miss Rachel’s Pantry, an all vegan quick serve cafe and weekly host of two meatless farm table dinners, opened to the public at 1732 West Passyunk Avenue (between 16th and 17th streets). And Noir, which will come to life soon in the former home of Sticks & Stones over on the East side of Broad Street, gave Beer Week revelers a peek of what to expect during yesterday’s Craft Beer Day. Miss Rachel’s Pantry is an offshoot of owner Rachel Klein’s popular vegan catering and private chef operations.

On weekdays it will serve vegan pastries, ice cream, smoothies, coffee and a small menu of savory items. On Friday and Saturday evenings, Klein will host intimate vegan dinners by reservation only for parties of up to 12 guests at the cafe’s communal farmhouse table.

Noir, which we mentioned before will fill th void left by short-lived Sticks & Stones, is Marcos Decotiis’, formerly of La Stanza, casual neighborhood spot that’s opening in the coming weeks. For Sunday’s craft beer spectacular, it was serving up steamed mussels with white wine, garlic, tomato and spinach; crispy chicken wings with caramelized onions and rosemary; Prosciutto and spring pea arancinci; and tomato bruschetta. Since it’s still not fully up and running yet, it offered a wide selection of homebrews for passersby to sample.
