Typically restaurant openings slow down a little this time of year. But a spate of recent and upcoming openings are proving that these are atypical times. La Petite Dauphine, which we told you back in April was going to replace shuttered douche-tacular bar Strongbox at 2029 Walnut, is it’s opened and serving coffee, tea, croissants, pain au chocolate and other French pastries, Foobooz reports. A more complete menu of egg, quiche, omelet and crepe dishes will come into play there this week. Just around the corner Pure Tacos, the gluten-free taqueria launched on Ocean City, New Jersey’s boardwalk in the summer of 2010, has plans to open the doors of its Center City offshoot next week.
Eater Philly reports that the Philly-based Pure Tacos is aiming for a Monday, July 9 opening at 1935 Chestnut. And finely, Chabaa Thai’s owner Moon Krapugthong plans to open Yanako, a Japanese restaurant with an 18-foot sushi bar, in the heart of Manayunk at 4255 Main Street on July 20.
